Better Glass Recycling facilities called for?
The Glass federation are pushing to get the quality of collected glass improved, David Workman (British Glass)  has said that because glass from mixed colour collections is sent for use in construction products rather than in making new glass, carbon emissions savings - gained when glass is made from recycled rather than virgin materials - are lost. What we need is better segregation of colours.

CGBF member responds:
It makes sense. Too many recycling  targets are related to tonnage especially those from Local Authorities. If you are in a position to train your staff to separate your glass colours please tell them why separation is important and needs to be done.
